Update from the 2011 Annual General Meeting


The AGM was held on Saturday, January 21st at the Blackfoot Inn in Calgary.
There were 102 members in attendance and 48 members represented by Proxy.
The meeting, chaired by Tim Nakaska, focused on our single most important issue being the new lease.

Reynold Medicine Traveller, now Chairman of the Siksika Negotiating Committee, brought greetings from the Nation and expressed his desire for a win-win scenario.

The Election process was chaired by Jim Krahn. The incumbent directors, Tim Nakaska, Bill Langen, Dale Hinves, Bill Dorgan and Mike Burke, were declared by acclamation as being re-elected to the Board of Directors for another two year term ending January 2014. This allows for continuity in planning and lease negotiations to the end of the current lease.  Jim Krahn, Janet Antonishyn, Steve Swan, Ken Reynolds and Robin Ellis remain on the Board for 2012.

The Board would like to thank those who volunteered to help on various committees. There were more than 30 volunteers who expressed an interest in helping the Board with communication and planning.

Updates on the lease negotiations will be posted when there is news to share.
Until then, please note that the Long Range Planning team has been working diligently with AANDC and Siksika on the lease negotiations and all the items and issues that it entails.
